I agree that the policy should be to discuss things here. I've sent
some messages to Paul instead of the list for two reasons: because I
wanted to 'vet' my proposals with him before presenting them publicly,
and because I was asking dumb questions that I shouldn't bother the
list with (like, "where do I get winsock.h").
What we're doing isn't proprietary (you probably knew that already) or
even secret (sometimes we work on things that the customer doesn't
want announced yet, but that isn't true here).
