Fifteen years after Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed, Libya leader Col. Moammar Gadhafi, has admitted responsibility for the terror attack and agreed to pay $2.7 billion to the heirs of the 270 passengers. This is what he said: "My country has accepted civil responsibility for the actions of its officials in the Lockerbie affair", in conformity with international civil law and the agreement reached in London in March by Libyan, American and British officials.
The first payment of the money that is already in the escrow account at the Bank for International Settlements in Switzerland will be transferred to lawyers who will distribute it to the families. As lawyers to the UNITED NATIONS in charge of compensation we cannot lay claim to this funds which is about to be forfeited to the UNITED NATION. Hence your name is related to one of the victim, we have unanimously agreed in a meeting of our board of trustee to nominate you as a beneficiary to the total sum of (Ten. Six Million United State Dollar) being payment of compensation and benefits to the family of the Lockerbie Affairs victims.
The deal announced for the families of the Pan American victims and signed by the Libyan government on August 13th 2009, setting up a $2.7 billion fund for families of the 270 victims, or $10.6 million per family.
However, all arrangements have been put in place to instruct the deposited bank to transfer this amount to you online to your nominated bank account in your country. The transfer procedures will be discussed with you when I am sure that you are willing to receive the money with all trust. Though, we agreed to offer you 35% of the total sum, 60% is to be held on trust by you subsequent to further instruction from us, While 5% is mapped out for your expenses to covers your telephone bills and transportation.
