COMPLETE AUDIO EDITION OF ROTHBARD'S OUT-OF-PRINT CLASSIC!
ETHICS OF LIBERTY
by Murray N. Rothbard
read by Jeff Riggenbach
(from a review by Roy A. Childs, Jr.)
Most of Murray Rothbard's work is primarily concerned with
economics--this is his masterwork on *justice*. It may be the most
important restatement of the natural rights tradition in our time.
He begins with a summary of the natural rights approach and
explains, simply, that rights are based on the nature of man, and
of the universe in which he lives. Rothbard assails both
utilitarian and mystical views, grounding his own theory firmly in
a commitment to human reason.
He points out that free market analysis assumes an existing
system of property rights, and that most economists also assume
that the existing system is just. He sets forth his own theory of
justice in property rights, critiques unjust property titles, and
moves through a discussion of the justice of the whole range of
economic activities.
The moral spell which socialists have cast over so many
intellectuals is based upon their integration of classical
economics with an implicit "entitlement" criterion which holds that
capitalists rob workers of the products of their labor. Rothbard
returns to a Lockean individualism, refines it, and integrates it
with the insights of modern "Austrian" economics, particularly its
view of the market process and the structure of production.
This is *the* moral defense of capitalism! It is nothing less
than a handbook, a guide to the libertarian ideology, and to a
theory of justice which is as profound as it is passionate and
relevant. It is a classical political treatise in the tradition of
John Locke or Herbert Spencer. In terms of importance, this is
Rothbard's magnum opus.
This complete audio reading comes in a vinyl binder. The
reader is Jeff Riggenbach, who has made hundreds of similar
recordings. He is a true professional. Listening to these tapes is
the most pleasurable way we know to digest Rothbard's profound
ideas!

Also, in case anyone missed it...
FOR A NEW LIBERTY
by Murray N. Rothbard
This is Rothbard's Libertarian Manifesto, a classic that for
over two decades has been hailed as the best general work on
libertarianism available. Rothbard begins with a quick overview of
its historical roots, and then goes on to define libertarianism as
resting "upon one single axiom: that no man or group of men shall
aggress upon the person or property of anyone else." He writes a
withering critique of the chief violator of liberty: the State.
Rothbard then provides penetrating libertarian solutions for many
of today's most pressing problems, including poverty, war, threats
to civil liberties, the education crises, and more.
