Isn't Martha Siegel one of the people who got in trouble for
trying to advertise some legal services over netnews in a very stupid
manner? As I recall, the people who did it were kicked off their
online service for what they did, so this could be partly just a
emotional outpouring against the Internet Establishment. I do remember
that they had so much success that they decided that they were
Internet business gurus and formed a company.
This does demonstrate the importance of trying to get the
government OUT of Internet as much as possible. The more private the
Internet is, the harder it would be for the government to control it.
I have a feeling that Jason's IAP crypto seminar will address
these issues, so I would encourage people to attend if they can.
