The hopes for a grand election night gala at MIT or eleswhere have
been drastically scaled back. In fact, we might not do much of
anything. Nevertheless, being the open kind of guy that I am, I
will be having an "open house" at my place tonight in Cambridge.
We can order some pizza and get a few beers and hang out in front
of the warm glow of C-Span's election coverage. It's a fifteen
minute walk from MIT to my condo in East Cambridge. Here are the
directions: From West campus, walk down Mass Ave till you get
to Albany St (1st one after R/R tracks) and turn right. Take the
left fork when you come to it, continue going straight (the stree
turns into Portland) past Main street, then past Broadway and
Hampshire streets (the street now turns into Cardinal Medeiros).
Keep going on straight past the Kendal Cafe and on a few blocks
until you get to 345 (a blue triple decker next to a white building
with scaffolding next to it). That's my place. From East Campus,
head east to Broadway St. (Kendal Sq.) and go up Broadway away
from the river. As soon as you pass the R/R tracks take the right
fork onto Hampshire street near the "One Kendal Sqare" area and
then take a VERY quick right onto Cardinal Medeiros (the first street
after the R/R tracks). From there go straight (as above) till you
get to 345.

345 Cardinal Medeiros Ave. #2
Phone (617) 876-3887 (I sometimes screen calls
in the early evenings to avoid pesky salespeople,
don't worry if the answering machine comes on).
You can drive there to if you want, going basically the same way
except you'll want to stay off the sidewalks.
The time for this event is officially:
Whenever you feel like it (I'll be home at 5 to grade papers)
to
I'll kick you out when I feel like it (but probably not
until Nightline is over at Midnight).
Whatever you want to injest will have to be brought by you, or at
least paid for in part by you. I am not the government.
Happy Voting!

P.S. I may be persuaded to drive some folks home if it gets late and
I have not had too much to drink (either from celebration or disgust).
P.P.S. I will not be responsible for any substances you or anyone
else choose to imbibe, nor for your behavior afterwards. I might
take compromising photos though ;^)
