Libertarian candidate for Secretary of State has endorsed (mildly)
Scott Harshbarger (D) for Atty. General. This was based mostly
on his unwillingness to capitulate to the law and order fervor
sweeping around right now (he resisted the death penalty for instance).
I think it's a good thing as well. Janis Berry (R) ran almost
entirely on a line 'em up and fry 'em campaign for the death penalty.
This is one issue on which the Libertarian Party is not unanimous.
There are lots like me who think the DP is too much power for an
often arbitrary and inept government run justice system. Others
think the DP is a sane and just penalty with proper safeguards and
for proper (violent, fatal) crimes.
