*** Announcing the Objectivism World-Wide Web Service ***

The Objectivism WWW Service has recently been
made available at URL:

   http://www.vix.com/pub/objectivism

The goal of the Objectivism WWW Service is to make Objectivism-related
information available on the Internet computer network, a
rapidly-growing, international network of over a million computers.
There are two components to this goal: first, to provide
locally-sponsored content, e.g., essays and bibliographies written
exclusively for the Service. Second, to provide pointers to other
resources, both on and off the Internet, that may be of interest to
people interested in Objectivism.

Objectivism is the philosophy developed by novelist/philosopher Ayn
Rand. It advocates the primacy of existence, the efficacy of reason,
egoism in ethics, the virtues of rationality, purpose, and pride,
and laissez-faire capitalism.

The information presented in the Objectivism WWW Service is organized
as follows:

*** Objectivism in brief

``Objectivism in brief'' is a locally-sponsored, hypertext essay. The
essay consists of a one-page summary of Objectivism with links to
other one- and two-page essays filling in the details. So far only
two links have been written, but many more are planned. There is also
a link to a two-page biography of Rand.

*** More details about Objectivism.

This section of the Service is a repository of several
locally-sponsored documents, including the bibliography of Rand's
works, a bibliography of other works related to Objectivism, and a
collection of introductory and advanced essays on Objectivism.

*** Resources

The resources section of the Service lists on- and off-net resources
related to Objectivism, capitalism, and free-market economics. This
section includes a lists of electronic mailing lists, news groups,
file archives, Objectivism and Free Market organizations, and book
services. The on-line catalogs of two book-services are listed.

***Entertainment

This section features humor, book/movie/album reviews, short stories and
poetry. Submissions from anyone are welcome; see the appropriate
sections for more details.
