I'm cutting and pasting from Kevin Theobald's post those
Senators identified as "(bad)" because they supported the bill leaving
the Judiciary, sponsor the bill, or will vote for the bill. Here are
summary ratios:

Senators voting in favor of bill leaving committee:
		10D, 8R
Senators sponsoring, or will be voting for, the bill:
		6D, 1R

3 of the 6 who will vote for the bill are among the most
"liberal" of Democrats: Diane Feinstein, Ted Kennedy, Howard
Metzenbaum. The sponsors of the bill are Democrats: Joe Biden, Pat
Leahy.

	More quotes:

>Call Senators Wallop, Warner, and your own and tell them to vote NO on
>SB 2375. Mail vtw@vtw.org for more information.
>
>- -Forward this letter to ten friends.
>
>- -Sen. Malcolm Wallop (R-WY) has placed a hold on the bill. It is crucial
> to support his position so that he can continue to oppose the bill.
> Call him with the sample communique below.

Moral
-----

It's not true that liberal/Dem politicians are significantly
more in favor of civil liberties than conservative/GOP politicians.
Other major examples:

	Clipper chip
	guns
	freedom of speech & association
		(versus discrimination & harassment law)
	supplement freedoms
(an issue that does not divide on a
		liberal-conservative axis)
