It will pass, unfortunately.
I believe it still contains the MacKinnon/Dworkin domestic violence
provisions which are sufficiently badly framed as to encourage false
accusations -- which perhaps is why Dworkin said, "If they knew what
this bill meant, they wouldn't vote for it."
Basically, you'll be able to get attorney's fees and punitive damages
for accusing your significant other of mistreating you. But they
won't be able to get attorney's fees if they beat the accusation.
Which ensures a flood of lawsuits, especially during angry divorce
court battles as a form of leverage.
