Well, according to today's Boston Globe, the Super Stop & Shop
that was going to be built on Memorial Drive near Tang is finally
dead. After 2+ years of arguing with the state, the MDC, Cambridge,
and others over zoning, highway usage, hours, etc., Stop & Shop
decided that it wasn't worth building. This supermarket would have
been convenient for many MIT students, but will now never be built
because of government meddling in private industry.
