Correct.  The names must be *unique* to 8.3; they don't have to be
restricted to 8.3 --- when the source files get unzipped, or accessed
over NFS, they will automatically be truncated to 8.3.

If you could come up with better names, they'd be welcome.  We'd
appreciate it if you could do so quickly, however.  Thanks!!
