I just a timing test of encrypted telnet between my VAX 3100 and SPARC using my
termcap file (from wc)

It ran in about 46 or 47 seconds in un-encrypted mode and about 50 seconds in
encrypted mode. I figure encryption is less than a 10% overhead between these
two machines (probably about 8%). I so no reason why I should ever run un-encrypted
with these numbers!
