For your information, I've put another set of 1.0 release candidates.
This has a kludge in place to fix the NetBSD/Linux shared library
problem.
I'm in the process of doing a checking build and "make check" on Linux.
If that succeeds, I will be releasing the test build to our external
testers (which at this point, are Harry/OV, Ken Hornstien, and Paul
Vixie; no one else has reponded).
What I will do is the following; the 1.0 release candidate will go to
aeneas.mit.edu; I will then send e-mail with the path to the external
testers, along with the build instructions.
If there are any others who would like to build krb5 on some platform
that we don't have below, please send me e-mail. I will be reading
e-mail sporadically throughout the Thanksgiving weekend.
At this point, what with the Thanksgiving weekend, the actual formal 1.0
release will probably happen at the end of next week (December 6),
assuming that we don't find any other show stoppers --- hopefully we've
found all of the really bad ones already. This will give the external
testers a week to play around with the release.
Note that the external testers should feel free to play with the release
on platforms other than the ones for which they've signed up to make
binary distributions. The more testing we can put in before the formal
1.0 release, the more likely that the 1.0 release, when it finally comes
out will be completely Bug Free (tm). :-)
