Actually, verto.c already has a working implementation of these for
win32 which also lacks them. You should be able to enable them with just
a simple ifdef. Patches welcome (as I don't currently have a copy of
Solaris). :)

I'll look at this tomorrow.  However, can you get me the version number
of glib?
