I have no opinion on how this merge should be carried out; I know very
little about CVS so I cannot comment intelligently. :-) The code is
in a sufficiently stable state at this point that I can unlock any
incremental changes I'm making at any time; thus, whenever it is
convenient, the tree is ready.
