   The other places I might suggest leaving separate would be krb5/os
   crypto/os as there are probably alot of machine specific stuff in there
   with complicated tests that don't need replicating....

I disagree with the basic idea that configure information should be
distributed throughout the Kerberos tree under any circumstances.  All
configure tests &c should be in one place in the tree and should be
generated once.  If tests should logically be broken apart into
pieces, then they can be put into separate files etc.
