For now, I'm applying your patch to the set of things that I
will commit once I get the krb5 locker to pass make check on all
platforms. As far as I understand the change, the old code was
certainly wrong, and the new code looks correct. In addition, it's
the kind of thing that could be easily overlooked. However, I agree
Ted should confirm the fix before the release.
