I didn't want to put in a version number check until 2.0 is actually
out (Thursday.) I'll deal.
As for the complaints -- they're just warnings, it still does the
right thing. I'll get them fixed too -- but I want to come up with
something that's clean and consistent with autoconf style in general
(does the right thing printing out the result, puts the entry in the
cache(!) etc...)
For example, everything done with AC_COMPILE_CHECK can probably done
with AC_TRY_COMPILE -- which is why I convinced Dave to add it to
autoconf :-)
The reconf change is fine, though.
