   Thanks for the reply.  My next step is to try to port the stuff to
an SGI, since that is the second most common machine we have on base.
I'd like to do it in such a way that you can incorporate my changes
back into your release.  Is that idea of interrest to you folks at MIT?
   If there are any notes about the portability strategy that you've
chosen for Kerberos, or if there is any other information you are in the
habit of giving to potential contributors, I would certaintly be
interrested in getting it.

   Back to the SunOS version, though:  I wonder if those machines that
do support the "rb+" option would also support "r+b".  If they did, then
the sun would probably at least support "r+" even if it got confused
about the "b".  That might allow you to continue to support the
cross-compiling option.
