I'll note that appl/telnet doesn't actually use Imake either -- telnet
has it's own odd way of identifying the platform and doing the right
thing... But yes, I hope to have all remaining directories under
configure in the next patch.
As for DESTDIR, yes, it would make sense to use one or the other, we
just haven't quite cleaned up the install process under configure.
I'll leave the other bits to Tom (or Ted, when he gets back) as I'm
not sure of the logic involving the V4 compatibility code...
