It would be helpful to include which systems the package has been built on.
With the latest release, configure makes it very hard to figure out how to
customize things. Most immediately, I need to be able to set -DSYS5 in
the isode/compat Makefile. How do I affect configure in a global way
or add a test for SYS5, POSIX, etc?
