   strdup is easy to fix (in util/ss and ext-proto.h)

   insque -- what's that doing in there? :-)

   does he have vfprintf? He should... so that's another test to fix in
   krb5/posix. 

A lot of problems are probably caused by using a very old libc and its
associated include files.  In modern include files, strdup and insque
are only defined if _BSD_SOURCE or _SVID_SOURCE are defined.  And in
recent libraries, vfprintf is also included.  

It would be nice to make autoconf work on older systems anyway, of
course.  But Egan --- you'll probably save yourself a lot of grief and
porting headaches if you upgrade to a more recent libc and include file
setup.
