Hello Kerberos Team, I am interested in kerberos and would like to know if
it's something I might need. I am on a LAN with approx 300 xterminals and
a mulitiude of systems such RS6000's, Suns, Motorola's and a few other
platforms and connected to the internet. I read the kerberos.faq to find
out what kerberos is; however, the faq doesn't go into enough detail. The
faq states that kerberos is a network authentication system for use on
physically insecure networks. So I guess I fall into that category. Does
kerboros take over telnet sessions, rcp, rsh and other nfs and tcpip
applications? Where can I find more documentation (in non-postscript)
that tells more about kerberos. Is there something new in the near future
that will make kerberos obsolete? Does kerbero have to be compiled on
each platform on our network to be effective? Basically, what will
kerberos do for me. Thanks...
