System: SunOS perth 5.4 generic sun4c sparc
>Description:
I am having Master KDC configured on solaris m/c. A appication server on solaris m/c. This particular environment is mix of sunos and solaris systems and with nis.The application server in kerberos database is host/hostname.domainname@realm.
I have setup kerberos client on sunos m/c. Now if I do
#sunos/client> rsh hostname
The hostname is not authenticated. If I look at /var/log/krb5kdc.log the host looked in kerberos database was host/hostname@realm, the domain name part was missing . I believe this is because hostname was resolved by nis map. How can I get over this problem in sunos client while having nis also.
Solaris clents work well for rsh and rlogin if I change /etc/nsswitch.conf for host to be looked first in dns.
