"Jason> That patch does the "correct" option negotiation for
"Jason> AIX. RS6k's are kinda werid in that respect. Below is a
"Jason> patch to fix the "stty raw" problem, which I derived from
"Jason> my modifications to the beta4 code, which we are still
"Jason> using in a production mode here at the U of I.

What is incorrect or disfunctional about the previous
behavior? I.E. I'm not interested in applying OS-specific patches
just to match the behavior of the vendor telnetd unless there is a
clear reason that the current behavior doesn't work.

 If there is
"Jason> interest, I can post the diffs to the telnetd from the
    "Jason> beta4 source.
This would be useful if you have detailed change logs
explaining what the patches do.

"Jason> Also if someone could tell me what defines I can put in
"Jason> the code that gnu autoconfigure will find for AIX 4.x I
"Jason> would be most appreciative :)

Check AC_HOST and then define something based on that in
configure.in. Because Gcc doesn't really deal with AIX4 that well,
and because many people do not have IBM's new compiler, don't depend
on things from /etc/xlc.cfg.

P.S. Thanks for the stty -raw patch.
