I know that the note about the ss-960411.tar.gz was sent to him. I
don't know if he will resolve it that quickly.

Dou you mean that on an version of AIX prior to 4.1.4? 
I believe that it is in the login.krb5. I had added a number of test
printfs to see how far it got before it would hang. 

Well I can try the quick test of adding the login -f -p code to see if
it works then.
