Howdy. I'm a novice with Kerberos, so forgive me if my
ignorance shows through.
I've downloaded and compiled the 950505/* distributions, and
have installed them on a system running Solaris 2.5 Beta_Update.
The compile went fine; the install threw up a couple of times
because "deep" Makefiles referenced ../../config/install-sh rather than the
correct ../../.. path (no biggie).
After setting things up, I can get my TGT without a problem.
However, the only clients I can get to work are the rsh and
the telnet programs. The rsh (running the client provided in the dist)
seems to work fine. Telnet reports a warning that no Kerberos tickets
were obtained, but then works okay.
However, rlogin dies. The krlogind can't seem to open the
tty port. . ."truss" reports:
open("/dev/tty8", O_RDWR) (sleeping...)
The client also goes to sleep waiting for a read:
read(0,0xEFFFF4FF, 1) (sleeping...)
However, klist reports that the host ticket has been granted.
Additionally, I couldn't get the "sample" client/server to
work. . .sclient dies with a broken pipe will sending auth.
I'm testing all of these on a single machine on an isolated
network; I'm telneting, rlogining, and rshing to myself on the same
machine.
If you have any insight into this, it would be much appreciated.
