This is the second time I am posting this survey request. As luck
would have it, immediately after posting it the first time, my
system had disk problems and was down for some time. Several
people seemed to have trouble getting responses to me even when I
was up and running. So ... a note of caution. Use my email addresses
that are posted on the bottom of this letter, do NOT try to reply to
the "FROM address".

And now for the survey request.

I am interested in exactly how many companies, schools, etc. are
really running Kerberos. Sometimes it seems that there are very
many...but on the other hand, I mostly hear of the problems people
are encountering. I know that many people have obtained copies
of the software from MIT. It also seems that many people have
attempted to compile it but how many people have it up and running?

If you are running Kerberos, please e-mail me and let me know:

      * the number of realms being utilized
      * the number of systems in each realm
      * the type (vendor/architecture) of the systems
      * the Kerberized services being offered
	  *  the patchlevel you're running

I'd also be interested in hearing from those who obtained the
source but did not utilize it. Why not?

      *  lost time/lost interest/other priorities
      * couldn't compile on your architecture
      *  couldn't get it running
      * didn't solve the problem at hand (explain)
      *  couldn't get management support
      *  other

I would be glad to compile and post the responses. I will
keep details private if so requested. Please reply to:
