Another often-overlooked possibility is to use Kerberos and RSA
together.  Kerberos can be used, as it is, for authentication in a
given domain, and RSA can be used "on top" of Kerberos for
inter-domain authentication by system adminsitrators. This way, users
don't even need to be aware of anything but Kerberos.  That also
reduces the cost to $2.50 per domain.
