OK, folks, we've recently purchased a Cisco router/terminal server combo
that we expect supports TACACS by default instead of kerberos. We haven't
actually received the cisco box yet -- we're just trying to get a headstart
on the setup.

My question is this (and yes, I know this isn't really related to kerberos all
that much, but you're the most security minded protocol group I know of. :) ):

Is TACACS comparable to Kerberos in terms of security? Does TACACS encrypt
its transmissions with the server? If you've got a TACACS system running, or
you know of problems with it or sources of further info, I'd appreciate
hearing from you.
