I have managed to get the 950505 release of K5B5 to compile on AIX 4.1.4.
Configure almost got it right, there were two problems:
1. Several files in src/lib/krb4 and src/lib/kdb4 needed to have
NEED_TIME_H defined, so that time.h was included. I manually changed
the DEFS variable in those 2 Makefiles. (lib/krb4/klog.c and
lib
2. AIX 4 has the definitions for fd_set inside of the header file
<sys/select.h>. This is recursively included from <sys/types.h>
if _BSD is defined. (lib/krb4/send_to_kdc.c and
lib/v5server/srv_net.c)
Anyway, I have been going through configure to try figure out
how to fix this. I'm still a tenderfoot at this, so if someone could
short-circuit this for me, I'd appreciate it. (Wading through autoconf
is not easy). I would really like to get the distribution fixed so
AIX 4 compiles out of the box.
BTW, the image passed all of the tests except rsh.exp. I'm looking into
why, right now. My end objective is to get Doug Engert's DCE patches
to work correctly with AIX 4.1.x and IBM DCE 2.1.
If anyone else is working on AIX 4.1, please drop me a line.
