Problem with basic sclient

I have installed krb5B5 to the best of my knowledge. i have a Sun 3/60 with
SunOD 4.1.1 . I am having no luck with sclient and would like some
assistance. Here's what I have done:
I added a principal for myself, and then a sample/charlie.bu.edu@NICK.NET
principle. I used xst to put the key a file and put that in file in
/etc/v5srvtab
I fixed the services to use port 5555 I beleive.
I get a credential with kinit, and see it with klist.
I then run '%sclient charlie' on snoopy. snoopy says:
sclient: Software caused connection abort while using sendauth
charlie reports a message to /var/messages:
charlie sserver: recvauth failed--Bad file number
What am I doing wrong? What else do you need to know.

PS just as a side note, this little project of mine is not associated with
BU in any way...just being cautious
