V4 installation trouble

I am trying to install kerberos V4 on a variant of SunOS 4.2 (modified
for dual processor Solbourne) and have successfully made it through the
'make world' and 'make install'. The kerberos daemon starts up normally but as
soon as a transaction is initiated (kinit) it ends with a segmentation fault
and generates a core file with no error messages. Any one have any ideas
where I should look? I am assumming it has to be an option setting in the
build process but I don't know where to start debugging. Is there an
undocumented debug flag I can turn on to figure out what is happening, or has
someone run into a similar problem and can suggest something to check?
