The following was sent to news.groups today announcing the vote tally at
15 days of a 30 day voting period. The total yes's must be at least 100
more than the no's so it is still close.

Two weeks ago I posted the call for votes for creation of the
news group comp.protocols.kerberos. This is the report of the
totals at the midpoint of the voting period:
yes: 111
no: 8
Some of the yes votes were conditional on the news being bi-directionally
gated through the kerberos mailing list. This was intended
from the beginning and will be done. One 'yes' vote was conditional on it
being a moderated group. This is not now intended (if the thoughts on
this change it will be done so only as the result of a vote, of course).
Sentiments were also expressed in making the archive of past messages
available to the net. This will definitely be done.
The voting period will end March 10.
