We are trying to get the MIT Kerberos installed at the College.
I've downloaded Kerberos 5b5 from MIT and had no trouble building the
software. I've confirmed that other V5 clients can obtain tickets from
the KDB server.
A few of our devices, however, only support Kerberos 4. According to
the FAQ (http://www.ov.com/misc/krb-faq.html), the V5 beta 5 server
includes compatibility with V4, but I've been unable to get this
feature working.
Is there some "switch" that must be enabled? Following the sample
config files, I've setup the krb5.conf file as follows:
[libdefaults]
ticket_lifetime = 600
default_realm = SKIDMORE.EDU
[realms]
SKIDMORE.EDU = {
kdc = GRACE.SKIDMORE.EDU
admin_server = GRACE.SKIDMORE.EDU
default_domain = SKIDMORE.EDU
v4_instance_convert = {
skidmore = skidmore.edu
}
}
[domain_realm]
.skidmore.edu = SKIDMORE.EDU
Can anyone advise me what I'm doing wrong?
