Hello,
I try to install X11R6 using kerberos. Therefore I compiled Kerb5 Beta4, and set
the Kerberos 5 config-Variable in xc/config/cf/site.def.
The systems(Kerberos and X11R6) compiled well.
My problem is that the man-pages of X11R6 (Xsecurity) are not very exact about
what to do when you want to apply kerberos security. So I'd like to know if
there is someone who managed successfully to marry X11r6 and Kerberos.
There are some questions of special interest to me:
1. What do I have to put in my .Xauthority-file. The man-pages say
that there should be an MIT-KERBEROS-5 entry with an empty String . But
xauth will not accept an empty string. Perhaps someone can send
me an example of an entry how it should be?
2. How can I manage to start X under kerberos using xinit instead of
xdm. Is it sufficient to have a credentialcache with a valid entry
obtained by kinit <user> ?
3 Is there some more documentation about the konfiguration of X11R6 for
kerberos ?
