There is no problem with forwardable tickets in Kerberos 5 Beta 5.
We use them all the time.
I understand that there is a problem with ticket forwarding in the Version
of Kerberos 5 that was shipped with early releases of OSF/DCE. We have
vendor updates to fix that problem.
Regarding the "Strange message from login.krb5", I changed the source code
so it checks for a forwarded ticket before sending the message
"Warning: No Kerberos tickets obtained."
I will send a Diff to anyone who wants it. There are also some other fixes
in my version of login.krb5. I will send the diffs to krb5-bugs@MIT.EDU
