HELP! K4 compatibility under K5??

Hi all,
I am in the process of installing the 950505 Kerberos V5 Beta 5 package
on a DEC Alpha running OSF/1 2.0. It is a requirement that the K5 KDC
I set up be able to service requests from both K4 and K5 clients. I
built the package using the supplied K4 compatibility code; however,
when I set up a test realm and started krb5kdc, it was able to provide
tickets to K5 servers with no problem, but always returned a Bad Password
error to K4 servers. What am I doing wrong? Is there a known problem
with the K4 compatibility code in K5? Do I need to link against an
existing K4 library instead? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
