We're an ISP that is currently using Cisco and xtacacs to athenticate
and track usage of our customers (tacacs produces a wtmp).
[DEC Alphastation 200s osf/1 3.2]
The rest of the company is 'pro-dec' and it was decided we would purchase
a Xyplex (dec friendly) router over a larger Cisco. The Xyplex sales rep
claims that they can do the same thing as cisco/tacacs does using Kerberos.
I've been screwing with Kerberos b5 v5 (only one that would compile on osf/1)
for about two weeks now and I still can't get past the ssclient test
(even after trying the posted patches... having the same problem guys)
and even still, if I do get it to work I don't really see what I'll do next
to track logins and logouts from the Xyplex router. Login seems pretty
easy but I dont' see how I'm going to produce wtmp-type data (ie: login and
logout plus time).
Can anyone tell me if I'm getting jerked around by a Sales rep seducing our
DEC manager?
Thanks,
- JoeB
