All,

I was talking with someone the other day about (among other things) IP
spoofing, Kerberos, Tokens, etc.

They proceded to say something to the effect of "yea...that sounds
"neat"...they were immune from IP based attacks as their "fiber-optic
cabling was protected via 'jumping cables'".

In this context, what are 'jumping cables'? Might they be mis-using
the term? If not, what are they? Does the incorporation of 'jumping
cables' protect a f.optic network(more importantly its users &
processes) from IP based attack?

I think that I know the answer to most of these questions, but I'd like
someone to support/enforce/refute my thought that they have not a clue
as to what they are talking about!!! :^)

Thanks,

---Mike---
