Greetings,
I'm using Kerberos to do mutual authentication between an application client
and an application server. (The application is a distributed one-time
password authentication system which is integrated into the O/S login
facility running on
VMS.)
Currently, I'm using the rcmd service ticket from the host kerberos.srvtab
file. I'm wondering if anyone cares to offer any guidance as to whether
or not use of
the rcmd service is appropriate in this case. I could create a new service
and require that my client systems obtain new srvtab files, but I can't think
of any reason why this would be any more secure than simply using the existing
rcmd service tickets.
Any thoughts?
