The MIT code should work. Ted and I both build it somewhat often, and
test it occasionally. Autoconf is a Good Thing :-)

The only really tricky part of any port are the parts where the
applications deal with ptys and utmp/wtmp; it's amazing the effort
that has gone into implementing these "creatively". The rest of the
release is not particularly system-dependent, when it comes down to
it...
