Why do Kerberos 5 authentication in FTP directly instead of through GSS-API?
Any FTP implementation using the GSS-API FTP authentication type instead of
using Kerberos 5 directly is easily portable to other GSS-API mechanisms, and
a free Kerberos 5 GSS-API mechanism already exists.
