Cybersafe's v5 releases do have v4 compatability; it has merely been extended for
their next release. I obtained a pre-525 release, and it contains everything I need for
converting my v4 shop to v5: support for v4 kpasswd and v4 kadmin, complete interopability
between v4/v5 r'utils and their daemons, and v4 support in kinit, klist, and kdestroy.
I thought converting from v4 to v5 was going to be a hassle, but it wasn't. All
I had to do was run kdb5_convert to update the v4 database, and run ksrvutil to
update the v4 srvtabs for v5 srvtabs. After doing this, all of my v4 apps ran
without error in a v5 environment.
Given the wide range of platforms they support, their strong documentation,
and solid technical support, they're definitely the right choice for me.
