Thanks to everyone who answered my question about compiling Kerberos
V5 under OSF/1 V3. According to Dan Walsh (walsh@athena.tay.dec.com),
krb5 will compile under OSF/1 V2.x, which is what I was hoping.

The lackof encryption in the version from DEC shouldn't be a problem,
although I'll need to check that out more thoroughly.

The application for which Kerberos is to be used here is to provide
some level of security against spoofing and replaying of commands in
the new JSC mission control center. There are a bunch of Alphas
scattered throughout the new MCC building, 30s, and NASA is concerned
that someone could plug a PC or something into the LAN in the building
and send unauthorized commands to the orbiter or to a payload.

I have control over which version of Kerberos they are planning to run
(DEC vs. MIT), and we shouldn't need encryption, although there is
talk of encrypting things like medical data from the crew.

Thanks again for the help,
bab
