Hi,

I have installed Kerberos 4 (from CNS) on a Linux box. I can run
kdb_edit without any problem. However, kadmin gives me error every
time I use it to change a principal's password. (I am running kerberos,
kadmind and kadmin on a single box). The error message I get is
" Principal me.admin@realm does not exist" where me is my user name and
realm is the realm name. I have checked my acl files
and they seem to be in the right format and right directory (/usr/kerberos/
database). kpassword also exits with an error when I try to change the
password for a user. The kpassword error is "Kerberos error: Principal
unknown (kerberos)".

kdb_edit has no problem recognizing the principals. Any hints on the
above mentioned problem?

Thanks in advance.

Girish
