My understanding is it is based on KryptoKnight which is a published
technology. Just not used by anyone other than its inventors, IBM. I think
I was told that KryptoKnight relies heavily on random numbers in place of IP
addressing and thus the systems involved need really good random number
generators.
KryptoKnight is one of the 'other' security protocols and is actually listed
as a protocol supported by the TELNET authentication....
