Ryan Watkins, system manager at CSU Long Beach, suggested I contact you for
assistance. I am the AIS Security Manager for Naval Ordnance Center,
Pacific Division. We have an urgent need to transmit Privacy Act data via
the internet for payroll data collection and to allow remote logon to some
of our critical but unclassified systems over the internet. I do not
believe it is prudent to transmit such data without protection. We are
looking for an encryption product for telnet sessions from PCs running
TCP/IP to non-Unix hosts with TCP/IP capability (and in the future Unix
hosts). We are looking for information on hardware and/or software that
will let us do this with reasonable assurance that the data/logons will be
safe from unauthorized disclosure/use. Would appreciate any assistance you
can provide to steer us on our search. thanks, Jan Buck, AISSM,
NOCPACDIV
