[Solaris 2.3] Problems with kadmind

Hi all,
We're having a difficulty getting Kerberos V up and running here.
The situation is as follows:
- start kadmind
- on the same host, invoke kpasswd and enter old password
at the prompt
- BUT kpasswd fails with:
Read Message Error: Software caused connection abort!
Protocol Failure - Password NOT changed
AND kadmind dumps core. We're not exactly sure if the
parent kadmind or its child is dumping the core.
Does anyone have any helpful pointers on what might be going on
here? Did other Solaris 2.3 users have any difficulties similar
to these?
