Who shot v5b4.1 in the foot?

I have v5b3 working fine. I'd *really* like to upgrade to v5b4.1
so I can be as cool as everyone else... plus it would probably make
my boss happy :)
I can do summer saults and backflips with b3... b4.1 seems to have
some from-the-start problems .. lemme list them:
1) following order I do a ./configure
appl/bsd, appl/telnet, appl/popper, and who knows
what other do NOT get configure, and then do not get
compiled (as a result?)
2) do a kdb5_create, and alittle kdb5_edit'ing ..
and a krb.conf and krb.realms .. startup the
old krb5kdc ... and .. core dump.
I really like the gnu-ish configure for b4.1 .. but it just doesnt seemt o get
the job done. Any help with these problems owuld be immensley appreciated.
